Meet Teddy W! The test teddy bear for the A2Z Teddy Team, about 30cm in height, when standing straight. A great friend of mine, whom is very talented in the knitting department, put this together overnight. We are in love. Each teddy bear is a different colour, depending on the letter which they represent.
We have been investigating the cost of landing the A2Z Teddy Team as a plush toy, rather than this adorable knitted ball of wool . The cheapest are all in China and the quotes vary from as low as two dollars up to ten dollars, obviously depending on the numbers being ordered.
My cousin and I were having a chat about doing business out of the country and she suggested we look at a knitted version.
It is not cheap though, or any cheaper than shopping in China. The wool alone, at the moment, is R20 per teddy. This is excluding the cost of the stuffing and this adds another R15 per teddy, BUT a very exciting prospect is that we can put this into another A2Z Teddy Team community upliftment project.
